SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Gary R. Johnson of Carbon Cliff, who 
4passed away on April 23, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Gary Johnson was born to Arthur and Cleo (Phelps) 
6Johnson in Missoula, Montana on April 20, 1936; he married 
7Marguerite Roby in Rock Island on July 17, 1975;  he served as a 
8member of the military police in the U. S. Army; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Gary Johnson retired from Augustana College in 
10Rock Island; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Gary Johnson enjoyed hunting and fishing in his 
12early years; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Gary Johnson was preceded in death by his parents 
14and his son, Gary Johnson; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Gary Johnson is survived by his wife of 46 years, 
16Marguerite; his children, Michael Johnson, JoLana (Randy) 
17Thein, Eric Johnson, Charles (Danette) Johnson, and Tammy 
18(Terry) Wallace; his stepson, James (Annette) Roby; his ten 
19grandchildren; his 21 great-grandchildren; his 
20great-great-granddaughter;  and his sister, Vivian Larsen;

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

4Gary R. Johnson and extend our sincere
condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

8presented to the family of Gary Johnson as an expression of
our 
9deepest sympathy.
