SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Shannon M. Boyd, who passed away on
4January 17, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Shannon Boyd was born to Diane (Marti) Boyd and
6John Boyd in Sheridan, Colorado on October 25, 1971; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Shannon Boyd was a speech pathologist for East
8Elementary School; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Shannon Boyd was very active with autism
10awareness programs and in her community; she will be
11remembered as a woman with a huge heart, a beacon of light who
12helped children and families and touched the lives of many in
13her community and beyond; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Shannon Boyd was preceded in death by her father;
15her father-in-law, Lonzo Roberts; and her mother-in-law,
16Shirley Roberts; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Shannon Boyd is survived by her mother; her
18husband, David A. Roberts; her son, Matthew E. Roberts; her
19daughter, Alexis M. Roberts; her brothers, James (Jennifer)
20Boyd and Gary (Melissa) Boyd; her sisters-in-law, Nancy

1Roberts and Cindy Pingel; her nieces, Zoey and Elizabeth; her
2nephews, Zachary and Kory Boyd and Eric and Kevin McRoberts;
3her great-nieces and great-nephews; her mother-in-law, Carol
4Roberts; her cousins; her best friend and chosen sister,
5Chanelle Brooks; and her chosen nephews and niece, Jeremy
6Paiva, Nathan Paiva, and Ashley Brooks; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Shannon M. Boyd and extend our sincere condolences to her
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Shannon Boyd as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
