SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Lyle E. Lohse of Silvis, who passed 
4away on April 11, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse was born to Elmer and Marie (Thee) 
6Lohse in Jackson, Minnesota on May 1, 1933; he graduated from 
7United Township High School and served in the U.S. Army during 
8the Korean Conflict; he married Patricia Bruegger in Silvis on 
9December 3, 1955; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse worked as a grocery foreman at Eagle's 
11Warehouse for 37 years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse served as a Silvis alderman for 12 
13years before he became mayor of Silvis in 1997; he served the 
14city until 2009; he was instrumental in bringing the TPC Deere 
15Run to Silvis; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse also served   on the Silvis School Board 
17and the Silvis Park Board; he was a member of Christ United 
18Methodist Church, Silvis; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse was preceded in death by his wife and 
20his four brothers; and

1    WHEREAS, Lyle Lohse is survived by his sons, Daniel Lohse 
2and Richard (Maria) Lohse; his grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah) 
3Lohse and Katharine (Nile) Lohse; his great-grandchildren, 
4Vivien Lohse and Eliza Lohse; and his brother, Don (Sue) 
5Lohse; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

8Lyle E. Lohse and extend our sincere
condolences to his 
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it 
10further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

12presented to the family of Lyle Lohse as an expression of
our 
13deepest sympathy.
