| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Clarence Edward "Ed" Brummett of |
| 4 | | Jacksonville, who passed away on April 26, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ed Brummett was born to Milford Collier and |
| 6 | | Bertha Lee Brummett in Lynnville on July 17, 1924; he served as |
| 7 | | a sergeant in the Anti-Tank Company, 330th Infantry, |
| 8 | | Thunderbolt Division of the U.S. Army during World War II, |
| 9 | | where he was involved in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle |
| 10 | | of the Bulge, with one and a half years of combat; he married |
| 11 | | Ruby Phyllis Francis on October 5, 1946, and they resided in |
| 12 | | Jacksonville for most of their lives before she preceded him |
| 13 | | in death on August 14, 2016; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Ed Brummett made his living as an Over the Road |
| 15 | | (OTR) semi truck driver; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Ed Brummett was preceded in death by his wife of |
| 17 | | 69 years, Ruby Phyllis, and his siblings, Francis Loomis, |
| 18 | | Margaret Brummett, Nola Dehlin, John Brummett, and Wendell |
| 19 | | Brummett; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Ed Brummett was the father of Janet Townslay |
