SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of David "Dave" E. Johnson of Linn Creek, 
4Missouri, who passed away on February 25, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Dave Johnson was born to Gunnar and Margaret 
6Johnson in Moline on September 26, 1947; he grew up in Moline 
7and graduated from Moline High School in 1965; after high 
8school, he served with the U.S. Navy in Vietnam; he married 
9Karen True in Moline in 1969; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Dave Johnson worked for Illinois Bell/AT&T as a 
11communications technician; he retired in 1999 after 30 years 
12of employment; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, After retirement and a move to the Lake of the 
14Ozarks, Dave Johnson became a member of the Osage Beach 
15Missouri Elks Lodge; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Dave  Johnson enjoyed traveling with his wife; 
17they visited 48 U.S. states, all Canadian provinces, and more 
18than 30 countries; they owned a country home in Taylor Ridge, 
19where they kept their horses and participated in trail rides; 
20and

1    WHEREAS, Dave Johnson is survived by his wife of 52 years, 
2Karen; his brother, Dennis (Cheryl);  and his many other 
3relatives and friends; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

6David "Dave" E. Johnson and extend our sincere
condolences to 
7his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

10presented to the family of Dave Johnson as an expression of
our 
11deepest sympathy.
