| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Mark N. Kessler of Springfield, who |
| 4 | | passed away on April 24, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mark Kessler was born to Bill Kessler and Grace |
| 6 | | R. Katz in Springfield on November 16, 1947; he married Kathy |
| 7 | | Thompson in Springfield on September 4, 1984; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Mark Kessler started Recycled Records with his |
| 9 | | brother, Gary, on the balcony of their family's Springfield |
| 10 | | Furniture Store, eventually expanding into the entire |
| 11 | | building; together, they developed Recycled Records into a |
| 12 | | beloved staple of Springfield frequented by audiophiles and |
| 13 | | collectors alike; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Mark Kessler was presented with the Wally |
| 15 | | Henderson Lifetime Achievement Award by Downtown Springfield |
| 16 | | Inc. (DSI) in 2019; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Mark Kessler enjoyed collecting antique glass and |
| 18 | | jewelry and playing in National Bridge Tournaments; he will be |
| 19 | | remembered as a beloved and thoughtful person; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Mark Kessler is survived by his wife, Kathy; his |
