|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Pamela Jo "Pam" Clarkin of |
4 | | Edwardsville, who passed away on December 13, 2021; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Pam Clarkin was born to Herbert and Dorothy |
6 | | (Ludwig) Fellhauer on September 29, 1951; her family briefly |
7 | | lived in rural Troy before moving to Edwardsville; she |
8 | | attended Lincoln Elementary School and graduated from |
9 | | Edwardsville High School in 1969; she married Michael Clarkin |
10 | | in 1971 and graduated from Southern Illinois University |
11 | | Edwardsville in 1983; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Pam Clarkin was well-known throughout |
13 | | Edwardsville as the 15-year partner with her longtime friend |
14 | | Kathy Lohr of the We Can Do This decorating company and for her |
15 | | extensive community service and charitable work; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Pam Clarkin was a member of Immanuel United |
17 | | Methodist Church of Edwardsville and the United Methodist |
18 | | Women, where she most recently served as president; she was |
19 | | active in the Glen Carbon American Legion Post 435 Auxiliary |
20 | | and Edwardsville American Legion Post 199, volunteering for |
21 | | fish fries, working golf nights as the beer cart girl, and |
22 | | leading weekly euchre tournaments; she was also an active |

1 | | member of the Democratic Party, supporting candidates and |
2 | | serving as an election judge across four decades; and |
3 | | WHEREAS, Pam Clarkin was renowned for her kindness, as |
4 | | well as her joy, wit, nurturing, intellect, fairness, honesty, |
5 | | and faith; she enjoyed reading, traveling, cards, antiques, |
6 | | puzzles, board games, animals, concerts, and going to the |
7 | | theater; despite claiming to have no culinary skills |
8 | | whatsoever, her baked goods, cookies, candies, and fudge were |
9 | | widely enjoyed by family, friends, and her church's bake |
10 | | sales; she was a loving mother and grandmother, and nothing |
11 | | filled her with more joy and pride than the happiness of her |
12 | | children and grandchildren; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Pam Clarkin was preceded in death by her husband, |
14 | | Mike; her parents; her beloved dog, Burke; and her grandpuppy, |
15 | | Harold; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Pam Clarkin is survived by her sons, Thomas, and |
17 | | his dog, Richard, and David (Rebecca); her grandchildren, |
18 | | William and Caroline; her siblings, David (Becky) Fellhauer, |
19 | | Pat (Armand) Boudreau, Penny (Tom) May, Dale Fellhauer, and |
20 | | Dennis (Brian) Fellhauer; her sister-in-law, Chris (Barry) |
21 | | Steele; her nieces and nephews, Tracy, Randy, Armand J., |
22 | | Kelly, Trisha, Patrick, Kimberly, and Matthew; her beloved |
23 | | cousins and their families; and many special friends, |

1 | | including her best friend for over 50 years, Cheri Drescher; |
2 | | therefore, be it

3 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
4 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
5 | | Pamela Jo Clarkin and extend our sincere condolences to her |
6 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
7 | | further

8 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
9 | | presented to the family of Pam Clarkin as an expression of our |
10 | | deepest sympathy.
