| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Donald Schutzenhofer of Granite City, |
| 4 | | who passed away on May 20, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Schutzenhofer was born to Joseph F. and |
| 6 | | Anna Mae (Williams) Schutzenhofer in East St. Louis on |
| 7 | | November 6, 1936; he proudly served his country with the U.S. |
| 8 | | Army Reserves; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Donald Schutzenhofer retired in 1992 from Granite |
| 10 | | City School District #9 after many years of dedicated service |
| 11 | | as a custodian; he had also owned and operated the D&B |
| 12 | | Employment Agency in Granite City and had worked at American |
| 13 | | Steel for several years; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Donald Schutzenhofer loved visiting the Casino |
| 15 | | Queen and enjoyed gambling and playing the slot machines; he |
| 16 | | also enjoyed cooking and playing cards, especially Spades; he |
| 17 | | looked forward to trips to the lake to visit with his brother; |
| 18 | | he always had a joke to tell and will be especially remembered |
| 19 | | for the love and special times he shared with his family and |
| 20 | | friends; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Donald Schutzenhofer was preceded in death by his |
|

| 1 | | parents; his grandson, Aaron Schutzenhofer; and his brother |
| 2 | | and sister-in-law, Joey and Mary Schutzenhofer; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Donald Schutzenhofer is survived by his son, |
| 4 | | Christopher Schutzenhofer; his four daughters, Carla (Richard) |
| 5 | | Gillespie, Carie (Jim) Evans, Candi (Jim) Parker, and Cathi |
| 6 | | (Tim) Strazinsky; his 15 grandchildren, Ryan, Katie, Nick, |
| 7 | | Mary, Ricky, DJ, Alex, Brendan, Hunter, Drake, Reid, Taylor, |
| 8 | | Madison, Mitch, and Logan; his great-grandchildren; his |
| 9 | | sister, Norma Graves; his nieces and nephews and other |
| 10 | | extended family; and his friends; therefore, be it
|
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
| 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
|
| 13 | | Donald Schutzenhofer and extend our sincere
condolences to his |
| 14 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it |
