SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Rolland Dean West of East Moline, who 
4passed away on May 23, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Rolland West was born to Edward and Gladys 
6(Huskey) West in East Peoria on February 26, 1937; he joined 
7the U.S. Army in 1960; he married Patsy Ann Jones at The Whole 
8Truth Tabernacle Church in Silvis on July 9, 1966; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Rolland West was employed as a lay out inspector 
10at John Deere Plow and Planter in Moline; he retired in 1991, 
11after 30 years of service; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Rolland West was a member of The Sanctuary Quad 
13Cities in Silvis; he enjoyed woodworking and constructed 
14furniture, doll furniture, cradles, and rocking horses; he 
15also worked on cars and did mechanical work for the buses at 
16church; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Rolland West was preceded in death by his parents 
18and his brother, Gerald West; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Rolland West is survived by his wife of 55 years, 
20Patsy West; his sons, Troy (Rachelle) West and Todd (Twila)

1West; his grandchildren, Payton, Haley, Brooke, Spencer, and 
2Kyah; his great-grandchildren, Jackson and Emerson; his eight 
3nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
6Rolland Dean West and extend our sincere condolences to his 
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Rolland West as an expression of our 
11deepest sympathy.
