SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Stephen R. "Steve" Sample of Rock 
4Island, who passed away on May 6, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Steve Sample was born to Hilton and Kathryn 
6Howard Sample in Rock Island on February 7, 1951; he lived his 
7entire life in the Quad Cities; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Steve Sample was an active member of The Arc 
9community for most of his life, where he attended day 
10programs, worked in the community, and lived in Arc group 
11homes; he received special care and formed long lasting 
12relationships while at The Arc; he was a resident of a group 
13Arc home at the time of his passing; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Steve Sample loved watching old television shows 
15while sitting in his recliner wrapped in a big blanket; he will 
16be remembered for his dry sense of humor and quick wit; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Steve Sample was preceded in death by his 
18parents, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Steve Sample is survived by his cousins, Robert 
20Stump and Brenda Sample Haferty; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Stephen R. "Steve" Sample and extend our sincere condolences 
4to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be 
5it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Steve Sample as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
