|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Marjorie Elizabeth "Margie" Caisley |
4 | | of Sacramento, California, who passed away on July 4, 2022; |
5 | | and
|
6 | | WHEREAS, Margie Caisley was born to William and Mary |
7 | | (Burnham) Caisley on July 8, 1976; she graduated from Normal |
8 | | Community High School and completed her bachelor's degree and |
9 | | master's degree in civil engineering at the University of |
10 | | Illinois; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Margie Caisley moved to California in 2000 and |
12 | | began working at Northwest Hydraulic Consultants; after the |
13 | | birth of her son, she began work at the State of California |
14 | | Department of Water Resources, eventually transitioning to the |
15 | | Department of Fish & Wildlife, where she provided technical |
16 | | expertise for restoration projects across California; she was |
17 | | a trusted and respected colleague and advocate for salmon, |
18 | | beavers, rivers, and the natural world as a whole; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Margie Caisley lived a life full of family, |
20 | | friends, and adventure; she cherished her role as mommy and |
21 | | stepparent and loved her children deeply; she was devoted to |
22 | | her family and continues to be an inspiration to them and to |
|

1 | | all who knew her; her friends and colleagues created the |
2 | | Margie Caisley Conservation Engineering Endowment Scholarship |
3 | | fund in her honor; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Margie Caisley was a skilled pie baker, talented |
5 | | handbell player, avid sailer, intrepid hiker, and a mediocre |
6 | | but enthusiastic skier; her life was filled with kind, |
7 | | wonderful, and loyal friends; she excelled at creating a |
8 | | community and was an active member of St. John's Lutheran |
9 | | Church; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Margie Caisley is survived by her wife, Nicole |
11 | | Oehmke; her former wife, Amanda Bohl, and their children, |
12 | | Bennett and Adelaide Caisley and Octavia, Margaret, and Henry |
13 | | Oehmke; her parents; and her brother, Tom Caisley, his wife, |
14 | | Jeremy, and their daughters, Lena and Allyson; therefore, be |
15 | | it

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
18 | | Marjorie Elizabeth "Margie" Caisley and extend our sincere |
19 | | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
20 | | her; and be it further
