SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bill L. Pulford of East Moline, who passed away on July 11, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Bill Pulford was born to Josephine and Ben Pulford in Moline on February 13, 1942; he graduated from Moline High School in 1960; he served in the U.S. Navy for four years, sailing on the U.S.S. Boston during the Cuban Missile Crisis and later on the U.S.S. Maloy out of the New London Submarine Base; he married Pauline Hendricks at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline on May 4, 1974; and

WHEREAS, Bill Pulford worked as a torque inspector building combines at John Deere Harvester Works, where he retired after many years of service; and

WHEREAS, Bill Pulford loved home remodeling and was an expert woodworker; he built many classic 1950s and 1960s Chevy cars through the years, and he helped organize the Quad City Classics Car Club; and

WHEREAS, Bill Pulford was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ben; and

WHEREAS, Bill Pulford is survived by his wife, Pauline; his son, Christopher (Dawn) Pulford, and his grandchildren, Daphne (Matt) and Vaughn; his daughter, Wendy White, and his grandchild, Brandon (Brittany); his son, Matt (Kelly) Pulford, and his grandchildren, Amelia and Ava; his siblings, Bob (Mary Jo) Pulford, Dale (Ruth) Pulford, Jim Pulford, Ken (Debbie) Pulford, and Betty (Tim McGiness) Pulford; and his sister-in-law, Karen Pulford; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Bill L. Pulford and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bill Pulford as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
