SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Warren "Mike" O'Neill of Moline, who passed away on July 4, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill was born to William Richard and Carol (Skoglund) O'Neill in Moline on June 29, 1937; he graduated from Moline High School in 1955; he attended Black Hawk College; he served in the U.S. Navy; he married Donna Bernece Ziegler in Moline on September 12, 1959, and she preceded him in death on August 7, 2017; and

WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill retired as Vice President of Operations for BankOne in Moline in 1998, and he had been employed by the bank and its predecessors for 40 years; and

WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill was a member and trustee of First Baptist Church in Moline; he was previously involved in Junior Achievement and the Miss Moline Pageant; and

WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill enjoyed racquetball, woodworking, traveling with his wife in their RV, and camping and fishing, especially with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill was preceded in death by his wife and parents; and

WHEREAS, Mike O'Neill is survived by his sons, Curt (Lisa) O'Neill and Tim (Trudy) O'Neill; his grandchildren, Danny (Danielle) O'Neill, Amy (Evan) Wendell, Kevin (Hailey) O'Neill, Meagan (Jorge) Cabrera, and Shawn (Molly) O'Neill; his great-grandchildren, Bennett, Amalia, and Ellis O'Neill; and his sisters, Patricia (Richard) Haney and Cathy Houghtaling; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael Warren "Mike" O'Neill and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mike O'Neill as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
