|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Anthony "Tony" King, who passed away |
4 | | on July 10, 2022; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Tony King was born in the Durcan home in Aclare, |
6 | | Tubbercurry, County Sligo, Ireland to Joseph and Kathleen |
7 | | (Durcan) King on February 27, 1945; he graduated from Leo High |
8 | | School in Chicago in 1963 and served in the U.S. Army from 1966 |
9 | | to 1968, where he was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam |
10 | | War; he obtained his bachelor's degree from Lewis University |
11 | | and his master's degree from Governors State University and |
12 | | spent most of his adult life living in the Joliet area; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Tony King retired from Valley View School |
14 | | District 365U after 32 years of teaching; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Tony King was a past member of V.F.W. Post #12059 |
16 | | Plainfield and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council |
17 | | #12863 Channahon and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church; he |
18 | | was an avid reader and a member of the Joliet Library Book |
19 | | Club; his passion was gardening, evident by the vegetables and |
20 | | gorgeous flower beds he grew in his yard; his love of travel |
21 | | took him and his family on many wonderful trips in the U.S. and |
22 | | Europe; and

1 | | WHEREAS, Tony King was preceded in death by his parents; |
2 | | and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Tony King is survived by his wife of 40 years, |
4 | | Teresa "Terri" (Wilhelmi) King; his son, Anthony J. King Jr.; |
5 | | his brothers-in-law, Joseph R. (Cathy) Wilhelmi, Chris (the |
6 | | late Ann Marie) Wilhelmi, and Tom (the late Angie) Wilhelmi; |
7 | | his niece, Lisa (Marc) Judnick and their children, Gregory and |
8 | | Noelle; his nephew, Joseph (Cheryl) Wilhelmi and their son, |
9 | | Carter; his niece, Jessica Wilhelmi and her daughters, Maecyn |
10 | | and Hadley; his nieces, Rachel and Sophia Wilhelmi; his |
11 | | cousin, John Durkin and the Durkin family; his friends, Jose |
12 | | Garcia and Joe and Bonnie Dressar; his neighbors, Marty and |
13 | | Cathy Lepacek and Sherri and Mike Kirincich; and numerous |
14 | | other cousins and friends; therefore, be it

15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
17 | | Anthony "Tony" King and extend our sincere condolences to his |
18 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
19 | | further

20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
21 | | presented to the family of Tony King as an expression of our |
22 | | deepest sympathy.
