| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Michael "Mickey" Reher of Des Plaines, |
| 4 | | who passed away on April 23, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Mickey Reher was born on July 8, 1935; he served |
| 6 | | in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, After completing his service in the Navy, Mickey |
| 8 | | Reher worked at Grand Stage Lighting and became a master |
| 9 | | electrician; later in his career, he crewed on many electrical |
| 10 | | departments for a variety of venues, including The Auditorium, |
| 11 | | McCormick Place, and the Mill Run Theatre, among others; he |
| 12 | | then joined the crew at the Lyric Opera in props and spent |
| 13 | | years in charge of the orchestra pit; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Mickey Reher had been a member of Theatrical |
| 15 | | Stage Employees Union Local 2 since 1959, retiring in 1998; |
| 16 | | and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Mickey Reher was an avid motorcyclist and would |
| 18 | | often take trips to visit his many friends from Local 2; he was |
| 19 | | a proud member and advocate for AA, always available to |
| 20 | | support those in crisis; and
