| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Dr. David M. Dillman of Danville, who |
| 4 | | passed away on August 18, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dillman was born to Leslie and Cecelia |
| 6 | | (Hullinger) Dillman in Provo, Utah on November 14, 1950; he |
| 7 | | graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1972 and the |
| 8 | | Indiana University School of Medicine in 1976; he completed |
| 9 | | his residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota; he |
| 10 | | married Cheryl Vergin in St. Paul, Minnesota on October 25, |
| 11 | | 1980, and she preceded him in death on November 8, 2021; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dillman started his own practice, Dillman Eye |
| 13 | | Care, in Danville in the 1980s; during his career, he became |
| 14 | | known as a pioneer in the field of cataract surgery; he retired |
| 15 | | in 2017; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dillman raised and adored seven Newfoundland |
| 17 | | dogs, and he was known for taking them on long walks around |
| 18 | | Danville; he was an avid Notre Dame football fan; he enjoyed |
| 19 | | playing card games, especially euchre, during which he enjoyed |
| 20 | | telling jokes to his family; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Dillman was a dedicated family man, always |
