SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Stephen G. Afferica of Moline, who 
4passed away on August 29, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Stephen Afferica was born to Stephen George and 
6Mae (Miko) Afferica in Weehawken, New Jersey on November 27, 
71935; he served in the U.S. Army for two years; he married 
8Judith Stentz in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 8, 
91962; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Stephen Afferica worked in management for 
11International Harvester in East Moline for over 26 years, 
12retiring in 1990; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Stephen Afferica was an excellent woodworker and 
14ran a Christmas wood craft business for 11 years; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Stephen Afferica enjoyed investing, political 
16science, and gardening; he was also an avid Duke University 
17basketball fan; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Stephen Afferica is survived by his wife of 
19almost 60 years, Judy; his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and 
20Cindy Afferica; and his sister, Joan Afferica; therefore, be

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Stephen G. Afferica and extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Stephen Afferica as an expression 
9of our deepest sympathy.
