SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul H. Schold, who passed away on August 29, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Paul Schold was born to Paul and Angela (Giovenazzo) Schold in Moline on April 3, 1948; he graduated from United Township High School in 1966; he served as an aviation electrician in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1973, where he was assigned to Carrier Air Wing 17, Early Warning Squadron VAW-123, serving on four aircraft carriers; he attended Black Hawk College and the University of Montana; he graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana; he attended Utah State University for post-graduate studies, specializing in Landscape Architecture; and

WHEREAS, Paul Schold was employed as ISO coordinator and warranty administrator by McLaughlin Body Company in Moline for 23 years; he retired in 2020; and

WHEREAS, Paul Schold enjoyed fishing, camping, photography, hunting, and traveling; in his recent years, his friends Beau, Bo, and Benny ensured his time was spent making meaningful memories, hunting, fishing, and having fun while completing his bucket list; and

WHEREAS, Paul Schold is survived by his brother, Sam (Nancy) Schold; his sister, Cathi (Mark) Dorr; his circle of lifetime, close friends; and his faithful cat, Miss Kitty; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Paul H. Schold and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Schold as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
