SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Jerry Joseph Geiger of East Moline, 
4who passed away on September 10, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jerry Geiger was born to Earl and Frances 
6(Strother) Geiger in Rock Island on January 23, 1935; he 
7married Betty M. Wiley in Rock Island on February 4, 1955; he 
8served in the U.S. Air Force; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Jerry Geiger was previously employed at John 
10Deere, where he worked as an electrician; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Jerry Geiger enjoyed spending time with his 
12family, woodworking, listening to country music, and playing 
13the ukulele; he was a member of River City Church; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Jerry Geiger was preceded in death by his son, 
15Don; his sister, Patty; and a grandson; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Jerry Geiger is survived by his wife, Betty; his 
17son, Bob (Ping) Geiger; his daughter, Sheila (Jim) Heubach; 
18his seven grandchildren; his 13 great-grandchildren; and his 
19sister, Cathy (Gary) Wagner; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Jerry Joseph Geiger and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Jerry Geiger as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
