| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Susan K. Dunlap, who passed away on |
| 4 | | September 15, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap was born to Roger L. Kaiser and Mary |
| 6 | | Jane Lilya Kaiser in Peoria on July 8, 1945; she attended the |
| 7 | | University of Illinois; she married William "Howard" Dunlap in |
| 8 | | Chillicothe on June 18, 1966; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap was very active in the Peoria |
| 10 | | community; she was a music teacher for Peoria School District |
| 11 | | 150 and the choir director at St. Vincent's Church for over 25 |
| 12 | | years; she also owned the Peoria Academy of Gymnastics; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap was a longtime member of St. |
| 14 | | Philomena Catholic Church; she volunteered at the Neonatal |
| 15 | | Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of OSF Children's Hospital; for |
| 16 | | many years, she assisted the Lindberg School's swing choir and |
| 17 | | St. Philomena's speech team; she served as music director for |
| 18 | | several plays and musicals at Bergan High School, including |
| 19 | | Godspell and The Wiz; she was also an avid volunteer for the |
| 20 | | local Democratic Committee in Peoria; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap was an avid Illini football and |
|

| 1 | | basketball fan, and she and her husband were season ticket |
| 2 | | holders for many years; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap was preceded in death by her |
| 4 | | parents; her brother, Roger Allen Kaiser; and her grandson, |
| 5 | | Noah Roof; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Susan Dunlap is survived by her husband; her |
| 7 | | daughters, Kellie (Scott) Fleeman, Kristen (Mike) Selk, and |
| 8 | | Heather (Patrick) Donnelly; her sister, Sally Hollifield; her |
| 9 | | sister-in-law, Sally Kaiser; her grandchildren, Brittan |
| 10 | | Rooney, Alexa Rooney, Savanna (Truman) Ralph, Chloe Fleeman, |
| 11 | | Hillary (Alex) Sadauskas, Jack Donnelly, Mary Jane Donnelly, |
| 12 | | Meredith (Jeff Bolt) Roof, Nicholas Roof, and Zachary Selk; |
| 13 | | her great-granddaughter on the way; her nieces, Stephanie |
| 14 | | Fiddes and Amy Trudel; and her nephews, Brent McClughen and |
| 15 | | Mark Kaiser; therefore, be it

| 16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
| 17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 18 | | Susan K. Dunlap and extend our sincere condolences to her |
| 19 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
| 20 | | further
