SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Theresa Norton Greco of Springfield, 
4who passed away on September 16, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Theresa Greco was born to Donald R. Norton Sr. 
6and Mary Terry Norton in Boulder, Colorado on December 24, 
71963; she graduated from Pleasant Plains High School in 1981; 
8she earned her Communications degree from Illinois College in 
9Jacksonville, where she belonged to different organizations, 
10most notably  Gamma Delta Literary Society; she earned her 
11Elementary Education degree and her master's degree in 
12Secondary Education from the University of Illinois of 
13Springfield; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Theresa Greco began her teaching career at 
15Douglas Alternative School and later taught at Southeast High 
16School; she then accepted a position at Springfield High 
17School, where she spent 19 years  positively impacting the 
18lives of thousands of students as a teacher and later as an 
19assistant principal;  she concluded her career as assistant 
20principal for Franklin Middle School; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, Theresa Greco loved rooting for her cherished St. 
22Louis Cardinals; and

1    WHEREAS, Theresa Greco was preceded in death by her 
2father; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Theresa Greco  is survived by her sons, Dominic 
4Joseph Greco and Alexander Owen Greco; her mother; her 
5brother, Donald R. (Beth) Norton Jr.; her nieces, Katie 
6Norton, Lauren Norton, and Madison Hamilton; her beloved 
7family friend, Ethan Holloway; her precious kittens, Gamma and 
8Rho; her Gamma Delta Literary Society sisters; her many dear 
9friends; her students; and her fellow teachers; therefore, be 
10it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
13Theresa Norton Greco and extend our sincere condolences to her 
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
15further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to the family of Theresa Greco as an expression of 
18our deepest sympathy.
