2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Nancy Ann Marquardt of Quincy, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on October 7, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Nancy Marquardt was born in Quincy to Douglas and | ||||||
6 | Marjorie Sprague Wells on October 3, 1935; she graduated from | ||||||
7 | Quincy High School in 1953 and attended the Deaconess College | ||||||
8 | of Nursing in St. Louis; she graduated from Gem City Business | ||||||
9 | College in Quincy and married Anthony Marquardt in Quincy on | ||||||
10 | April 23, 1955; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Nancy Marquardt worked in various departments at | ||||||
12 | Blessing Hospital, including x-ray, the lab, and as a medical | ||||||
13 | secretary; she then worked at the private practices of both | ||||||
14 | Dr. Brenner and Dr. Yu, as a medical secretary and in medical | ||||||
15 | billing; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Nancy Marquardt loved raising her family, and | ||||||
17 | being a mother was the highlight of her life; she was a member | ||||||
18 | of Salem Church and the Women's City Club; she was an avid | ||||||
19 | bridge player and loved to shop; she also enjoyed boating, | ||||||
20 | family trips, and spending time on the water at Lake of the | ||||||
21 | Ozarks; most of all, she adored her grandchildren and | ||||||
22 | great-grandchildren; and

1 | WHEREAS, Nancy Marquardt was preceded in death by her | ||||||
2 | husband, Anthony; her parents; her son, Jeffrey Marquardt; and | ||||||
3 | her brother, Dick Wells; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Nancy Marquardt is survived by her daughters, | ||||||
5 | Deborah (Doug) Olson and Susan Bennett; her grandchildren, | ||||||
6 | Brooke (Mike) Spring, Brett Olson, Christopher Bennett, | ||||||
7 | Johnathan (Kaleigh) Marquardt, Shaun Marquardt, and Ashley | ||||||
8 | Marquardt; her great-grandchildren, Caroline and Olivia | ||||||
9 | Spring, Logan Carver, and Myles Landes; and her nieces and | ||||||
10 | nephews; therefore, be it

11 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
12 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
13 | Nancy Ann Marquardt and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
14 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
15 | further

16 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
17 | presented to the family of Nancy Marquardt as an expression of | ||||||
18 | our deepest sympathy.
