| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Donald Lee "Demo" DeMarse Jr. of |
| 4 | | Smithton, who passed away on August 5, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Demo DeMarse was born in East St. Louis on April |
| 6 | | 29, 1955; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Demo DeMarse started his business, Demo's Pizza |
| 8 | | Cellar, in the basement of a liquor store on 17th Street; he |
| 9 | | then moved to North Belt West and opened Demo's Sports Bar; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Demo DeMarse was a member of Our Lady Queen of |
| 11 | | Peace Catholic Church in Belleville; he enjoyed golfing, |
| 12 | | fishing, coaching softball and basketball, and attending his |
| 13 | | grandsons' baseball games; he loved tending to his yard; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Demo DeMarse will be remembered for being a very |
| 15 | | generous and giving individual who was always ready to lend a |
| 16 | | hand to his friends and the community; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Demo DeMarse was preceded in death by his |
| 18 | | parents, Donald Sr. and Suzanne (Gerold) DeMarse; his brother, |
| 19 | | Chuck DeMarse; and his nephew, Tim Frazier; and
|
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Demo DeMarse is survived by his daughters, |
| 2 | | Christine (Mike) Todd and Donyelle (Austin) Theis; his |
| 3 | | grandchildren, Brady Todd, Austin Todd, Cody Todd, and Colton |
| 4 | | Theis; his brother, Gerry (Susan) DeMarse; his sisters, Liz |
| 5 | | (Tim) Messbarger and Cynthia (Mike) Biggs; his nieces and |
| 6 | | nephews, Lauren DeMarse, Megan DeMarse, Austin Frazier, Eric |
| 7 | | (Katlyn) Frazier, Anna "Toots" (Justin) Dulle, Mike Biggs, |
| 8 | | Doug (Dawn) Biggs, Jeff (Meaghan) Schoor, and AJ Biggs; his |
| 9 | | many cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his dear |
| 10 | | friends; therefore, be it

| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
| 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 13 | | Donald Lee "Demo" DeMarse Jr. and extend our sincere |
| 14 | | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved |
| 15 | | him; and be it further
|
| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 17 | | presented to the family of Demo DeMarse as an expression of our |
| 18 | | deepest sympathy.
