SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Dennis "Coach" Sugino of Elgin, who 
4passed away on November 8, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Dennis Sugino was born to Frank and Sumiko 
6(Okamoto) Sugino in Chicago on June 8, 1951; he earned a 
7bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Western Illinois 
8University, where he was a Gold Circle Member of Alpha Tau 
9Omega fraternity; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Although Dennis Sugino  taught math earlier in his 
11career, he spent 35 years as a PE teacher, coach, and fitness 
12and conditioning influencer at Larkin High School for School 
13District U-46, a job he loved; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Dennis Sugino was preceded in death by his 
15parents; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Dennis Sugino is survived by his wife, Karen 
17(Hameister Lang) Sugino; his children, Heather (Don) 
18Marczewski, Brian (Lauren) Lang, Sean Lang, and Kellie (Daniel 
19Valdez) Lang; his grandchildren, Hawk and Ruby Marczewski, 
20Walker Lang, and Kilian Valdez; his siblings, Kevin and Susan 
21(James) Bolster; his nephew, Matthew; and his niece, Melissa

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

4Dennis "Coach" Sugino and extend our sincere
condolences to 
5his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

8presented to the family of Dennis Sugino as an expression of

9our deepest sympathy.
