| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Kenneth E. "Ken" Frels of Coal Valley, |
| 4 | | who passed away on November 3, 2022; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ken Frels was born to Floyd and Lila (Wainright) |
| 6 | | Frels in Barstow on November 20, 1931; he married Donna |
| 7 | | DePorter in East Moline on May 22, 1954; he served in the U.S. |
| 8 | | Army in Korea during the Korean War; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ken Frels worked at the former Desaulniers |
| 10 | | Printing Co. for 44 years, where he retired as president; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Ken Frels was a member of St. Maria Goretti |
| 12 | | Church in Coal Valley and American Legion Post 246 in Moline; |
| 13 | | and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Ken Frels enjoyed his John Deere riding lawn |
| 15 | | mower, giving his grandchildren and great-grandchildren rides; |
| 16 | | he also enjoyed woodworking, cars, and all sports, especially |
| 17 | | college football; he dearly loved his family; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Ken Frels was preceded in death by his brother, |
| 19 | | Melvin; and
