| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
| 3 | | to learn of the death of Robert Eugene "Bob" Poe of Milan, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 10, 2022; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Bob Poe was born in Kokomo, Indiana on August 3, |
| 6 | | 1947, and he was adopted shortly after by Homer and Juanita |
| 7 | | Poe; he graduated from Connersville High School in |
| 8 | | Connersville, Indiana in 1965; he joined the U.S. Air Force at |
| 9 | | age 17, where he served in Vietnam and later worked as a |
| 10 | | special agent for the Air Force Office of Special |
| 11 | | Investigations; he graduated from Black Hills State University |
| 12 | | in 1984; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Bob Poe served as the director of several |
| 14 | | national cemeteries under the U.S. Department of Veterans |
| 15 | | Affairs, including the Black Hills National Cemetery in South |
| 16 | | Dakota, Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Nebraska, Fort |
| 17 | | Custer National Cemetery in Michigan, and the Rock Island |
| 18 | | National Cemetery in Illinois; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bob Poe served his community as a member of many |
| 20 | | organizations; under the Free Masons, he served as a master |
| 21 | | mason and as grand master in multiple locations for many |
| 22 | | years; he was also a member of the Shriners, York Rite, |
