SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Jim Grosso, who passed away on July 1,
42022 at the age of 73; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jim Grosso was born to George and Adrienne Ryan
6Grosso in Chicago on August 29, 1948; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jim Grosso attended grammar school at Our Lady of
8the Angels and survived the infamous school fire; he later
9attended Fenwick High School; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jim Grosso moved with his wife to Oak Park in
111974, where he has been a long-running participant in the
12Farmers Market jam circle; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Jim Grosso enjoyed a successful career as a
14consultant and loved and supported his children and
15grandchildren; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Jim Grosso brought joy to many as a singer,
17musician, and multi-instrumentalist through his involvement in
18the Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps and the musical groups
19Thursday's Child, Grosso Family Band, and Northern Skyline;

1    WHEREAS, Jim Grosso is survived by his musical partner and
2wife of 52 years, Mary Grosso (Prodehl); his sons and musical
3proteges, Gabe, Adam, and Michael; his grandsons, James,
4Mason, and Dylan; his brothers, Frank and Tom; and his sister,
5Carole; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Jim Grosso and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
9friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Jim Grosso as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
