SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Dorothy Violet Sherman of Park Ridge, 
4who passed away on June 10, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Dorothy Sherman was born to Frank and Elizabeth 
6Schmelitsch, Austrian immigrants,  in Chicago on July 10th, 
71928; she graduated from Waller High School in 1945; she 
8married Herbert Leo Sherman in 1955 and moved to Park Ridge in 
91966; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Dorothy Sherman loved to prepare meals for her 
11family for the holidays; she enjoyed caring for and playing 
12games with her grandchildren; she will be remembered for her 
13positivity, generous and non-judgmental spirit, and 
14willingness to help others no matter the situation; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Dorothy Sherman was preceded in death by her 
16parents; her husband; her sisters, Francis Trimay and Eleanor 
17Brissette; and her brother, Leo; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Dorothy Sherman is survived by her children, 
19Michael, Mark (Joyce), Linda, and Matthew (Robin); her 
20grandchildren, Jake, Frank, Olivia, Daniel, Hannah, 
21Alexandria, and Julia; and her great-grandchild, Skyler;

1therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

4Dorothy Violet Sherman and extend our sincere
condolences to 
5her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
her; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be

8presented to the family of Dorothy Sherman as an expression of

9our deepest sympathy.
