SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened 
3to learn of the death of Thelma Cornell Spain of Des Plaines, 
4who passed away on November 17, 2022; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Thelma Spain earned over 600 awards for her 
6watercolor paintings, all of which were inspired by her deep 
7faith and are displayed in thousands of collections around the 
8world; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Thelma Spain served as a prayer warrior for her 
10family and friends; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Thelma Spain was preceded in death by her 
12husband, Theodore Holmes Spain, and her children, Jeffrey H. 
13Spain and Laurie M. Spain; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Thelma Spain is survived by her daughter, Valerie 
15C. Kaiser; her five grandchildren; her four 
16great-grandchildren; and her many friends; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL 
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

19Thelma Cornell Spain and extend our sincere
condolences to her 
20family, friends, and all who knew and loved
her; and be it
