SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Adam Sloan of Edwards, who passed away
4on December 9, 2022; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Adam Sloan was born to Morton and Leah (Robin)
6Sloan in Chicago on July 22, 1942; he graduated from Maine
7Township High School; he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963
8to 1967; he earned his bachelor's degree from Central Missouri
9State and his master's degree from the University of Maryland;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, After moving to Peoria in 1975, Adam Sloan
12briefly worked for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command; he was
13hired by Marvin Hult in 1977 and worked at the advertising
14agency that became Hult Fritz Matuszak Inc. for 23 years,
15serving clients that included Bergner's, CILCO, Proctor
16Hospital, Caterpillar, and many more; after a brief
17retirement, he set up a business under his own name and
18continued working in advertising for 10 more years; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Adam Sloan served on the boards of and worked on
20projects for many organizations, including the Friends of Glen
21Oak Zoo, the United Way, the Hult Health Education Center, the
22Center for Prevention of Abuse, WTVP, B'nai B'rith, and the

1Peoria Symphony; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Adam Sloan was preceded in death by his parents
3and his aunt and uncle, Florence and Irv Sloan; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Adam Sloan is survived by his wife, Jean
5(Parowski) Sloan; his sister, Sharon Sloan; and his cousins,
6Susan Sloan and Marvin Sloan; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Adam Sloan and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
10friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Adam Sloan as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
