SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Adam Sloan of Edwards, who passed away on December 9, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Adam Sloan was born to Morton and Leah (Robin) Sloan in Chicago on July 22, 1942; he graduated from Maine Township High School; he served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963 to 1967; he earned his bachelor's degree from Central Missouri State and his master's degree from the University of Maryland; and

WHEREAS, After moving to Peoria in 1975, Adam Sloan briefly worked for the U.S. Army Recruiting Command; he was hired by Marvin Hult in 1977 and worked at the advertising agency that became Hult Fritz Matuszak Inc. for 23 years, serving clients that included Bergner's, CILCO, Proctor Hospital, Caterpillar, and many more; after a brief retirement, he set up a business under his own name and continued working in advertising for 10 more years; and

WHEREAS, Adam Sloan served on the boards of and worked on projects for many organizations, including the Friends of Glen Oak Zoo, the United Way, the Hult Health Education Center, the Center for Prevention of Abuse, WTVP, B'nai B'rith, and the Peoria Symphony; and

WHEREAS, Adam Sloan was preceded in death by his parents and his aunt and uncle, Florence and Irv Sloan; and

WHEREAS, Adam Sloan is survived by his wife, Jean (Parowski) Sloan; his sister, Sharon Sloan; and his cousins, Susan Sloan and Marvin Sloan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Adam Sloan and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Adam Sloan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
