AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 778 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 778 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
 
4    "Section 5. The Department of Professional Regulation Law 
5of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended  by 
6adding Section 2105-405 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 2105/2105-405 new)
8    Sec. 2105-405. Clinical readiness program for 
9international medical graduates.
10    (a) The clinical readiness program is established in the 
11Department to provide direct services to international medical 
12graduates wishing to reestablish the graduates' medical 
13careers and seek residency in this State. The clinical 
14readiness program will allow international medical graduates 
15to build the graduates' experiences without relying on limited 
16networks or funds, while building relationships between

1residency sites and international medical graduates that lead 
2to greater placement rates.
3    (b) The clinical readiness program shall assist 
4international medical graduates in building the skills 
5necessary to become successful residents in the United States 
6medical system, including, but not limited to, gaining 
7clinical experiences and getting letters of recommendation.".
