| 1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 8-13a as follows:
|

| 7 | | Sec. 8-13a. Agreements related to solar energy. |
| 8 | | Notwithstanding any other provision of this Code, a park |
| 9 | | district may enter into a lease, contract, or other agreement |
| 10 | | related to the acquisition of solar energy, including the |
| 11 | | installation, maintenance, and service of solar panels, |
| 12 | | equipment, or similar technology related to solar energy, for |
| 13 | | a period not to exceed 2.5 times the term of years provided for |
| 14 | | in Section 8-13 when authorized by the affirmative vote of |
| 15 | | two-thirds of the governing board of the park district.

| 16 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 17 | | becoming law.
