1 | | Coordinator shall include: |
2 | | (1) ensuring that a certified youth firesetter |
3 | | interventionist or, if a certified youth firesetter |
4 | | interventionist is unavailable, the Youth Firesetter |
5 | | Interventionist Coordinator is deployed within 72 hours of |
6 | | a case being reported to the Youth Firesetter |
7 | | Interventionist Coordinator; |
8 | | (2) overseeing certified youth firesetter |
9 | | interventionists across the State; |
10 | | (3) ensuring that proper documentation methods are |
11 | | followed by the certified youth firesetter |
12 | | interventionists; |
13 | | (4) taking on a case if no certified youth firesetter |
14 | | interventionist is available; |
15 | | (5) assisting a certified youth firesetter |
16 | | interventionist in challenging cases; |
17 | | (6) providing any necessary training for certified |
18 | | youth firesetter interventionists; |
19 | | (7) facilitating calls to the Office for referrals of |
20 | | youth who have been setting fires; |
21 | | (8) overseeing quality control; |
22 | | (9) central recordkeeping; |
23 | | (10) processing Freedom of Information Act requests; |
24 | | and |
25 | | (11) creating a quarterly report, to be submitted to |
26 | | the General Assembly, that provides data on the cases, |

1 | | including, but not limited to, the number of youth served, |
2 | | the nature of the cases, and the progress made on the |
3 | | cases. The first quarterly report shall be submitted to |
4 | | the General Assembly on September 30, 2023. All data shall |
5 | | be kept anonymous to protect the identities of those |
6 | | involved in the cases. |
7 | | (b) A certified youth firesetter interventionist shall be |
8 | | provided a $250 stipend per case, as well as mileage |
9 | | reimbursement for any necessary travel.

10 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
11 | | becoming law.".
