SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Appropriates $5,000,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Agriculture for the purpose of making grants to socially-disadvantaged farmers to provide funding for startup capital and for costs associated with farming operations and equipment. Effective July 1, 2023.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The amount of $5,000,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Agriculture for the purpose of making grants and providing funding to socially-disadvantaged farmers for startup capital, farming operation costs, and equipment costs.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2023.
