| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2569 on page 2, by |
| 3 | | inserting directly above line 1, the following: |
| 4 | | "Beginning January 1, 2024, the Department of |
| 5 | | Transportation shall report each year to the General Assembly: |
| 6 | | (i) the volume of compost used in State highway |
| 7 | | construction projects; |
| 8 | | (ii) the status of compost and compost-based products |
| 9 | | used in State highway construction projects; and |
| 10 | | (iii) recommendations to maximize the use of compost |
| 11 | | as a recycled material in State highway construction |
| 12 | | projects.".
