| 1 | | AN ACT concerning revenue.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic |
| 5 | | Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois |
| 6 | | is amended by adding Section 605-1110 as follows:
|
| 7 | | (20 ILCS 605/605-1110 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 605-1110. Local Chamber of Commerce Business Program. |
| 9 | | Subject to appropriation, the Department shall establish a |
| 10 | | Local Chamber of Commerce Business Program for the purpose of |
| 11 | | providing grants to certified local chambers of commerce. |
| 12 | | Grant moneys may be used to market and develop the service area |
| 13 | | of the chamber of commerce for the purposes of generating |
| 14 | | local, county, and State business taxes and to provide small |
| 15 | | businesses with professional development, business guidance, |
| 16 | | and best practices for sustainability. No single chamber of |
| 17 | | commerce shall receive grant funds under this program in |
| 18 | | excess of $50,000 in any State fiscal year.

| 19 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 20 | | becoming law.
