| 1 | | and a summer program as follows: |
| 2 | | (1) The school-year program shall operate during the |
| 3 | | school year of the district in which the program |
| 4 | | participant is located. Program participants enrolled in |
| 5 | | the school-year program will work 12 to 35 hours per week |
| 6 | | at an employer participating in the program at the rate of |
| 7 | | $15 per hour or the prevailing minimum wage in that |
| 8 | | county, whichever is higher. The Office shall enroll |
| 9 | | 80,0000 participants in the school-year program. |
| 10 | | (2) The summer program shall operate during the summer |
| 11 | | break of the district where the program participant is |
| 12 | | located. Program participants enrolled in the summer |
| 13 | | program will work 25 hours per week at an employer |
| 14 | | participating in the program at the rate of $15 per hour or |
| 15 | | the prevailing minimum wage in that county, whichever is |
| 16 | | higher. The Office shall enroll 80,0000 participants in |
| 17 | | the school-year program. |
| 18 | | (c) The Office shall work with local community-based |
| 19 | | organizations that interact with jobless youth and young |
| 20 | | adults and provide them strong, consistent support to build |
| 21 | | their work-related skills of showing up on time, working |
| 22 | | collaboratively with others, following instructions, and other |
| 23 | | critical skills to place participating students with an |
| 24 | | employer. The Office shall also coordinate with employers to |
| 25 | | provide program participants with jobs after training. |
| 26 | | (d) The Office shall establish eligibility criteria for |
