AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3963




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3963 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:


 
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended  by 
5adding Section 55-30 as follows:
 
6    (30 ILCS 500/55-30 new)
7    Sec. 55-30. Value-added reseller.
8    (a) If a value-added reseller is used for the purchase of 
9any information technology under this Code, the value-added 
10reseller must include in the bid an attestation from the 
11manufacturer of the goods for that bid stating that the 
12manufacturer has provided the same pricing and discounts to 
13all value-added resellers. The specifications for the bid must 
14clearly include this requirement.
15    (b) As used in this Section:
16    "Information technology" has the meaning ascribed to it in

1the Department of Innovation and Technology Act. 
2    "Value-added reseller" means a company that resells 
3software, hardware, and other products and services that 
4provide value beyond the original order fulfillment.
  
 
5    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
6becoming law.".
