SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 

 
30 ILCS 500/55-30 new

     Amends the  Illinois Procurement Code. Provides that if a value-added reseller is used for the purchase of any information technology hardware under this Code, the value-added reseller must include in the bid an attestation from the manufacturer of the goods for that bid stating that the manufacturer has provided the same pricing and discounts to all value-added resellers. Provides that the specifications for the bid must clearly include this requirement. Defines terms. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
  
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
 
3represented in the General Assembly:
  



 
 
4    Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended  by 
5adding Section 55-30 as follows:
 
6    (30 ILCS 500/55-30 new)
7    Sec. 55-30. Value-added reseller.
8    (a) If a value-added reseller is used for the purchase of 
9any information technology hardware under this Code, the 
10value-added reseller must include in the bid an attestation 
11from the manufacturer of the goods for that bid stating that 
12the manufacturer has provided the same pricing and discounts 
13to all value-added resellers. The specifications for the bid 
14must clearly include this requirement.
15    (b) As used in this Section:
16    "Information technology hardware" means laptops, desktops, 
17tablets, monitors, docking stations, telephones, headsets, 
18cable cords, computers, servers and wires. 
19    "Value-added reseller" means a company that resells 
20software, hardware, and other products and services that 
21provide value beyond the original order fulfillment.
  
 
22    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
