| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 3-699.23 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (625 ILCS 5/3-699.23 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 3-699.23. International Brotherhood of Electrical |
| 8 | | Workers license plates. |
| 9 | | (a) The Secretary of State, upon receipt of all applicable |
| 10 | | fees and applications made in the form prescribed by the |
| 11 | | Secretary, may issue special registration plates designated as |
| 12 | | International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers license |
| 13 | | plates. The special plates issued under this Section shall be |
| 14 | | affixed only to passenger vehicles of the first division, |
| 15 | | motorcycles, and motor vehicles of the second division |
| 16 | | weighing not more than 8,000 pounds. Plates under this Section |
| 17 | | shall expire according to the multi-year procedure established |
| 18 | | by Section 3-414.1 of this Code. |
| 19 | | (b) The plates shall display the International Brotherhood |
| 20 | | of Electrical Workers symbol. In all other respects, the |
| 21 | | design and color of the special plates shall be wholly within |
| 22 | | the discretion of the Secretary. Appropriate documentation, as |
| 23 | | determined by the Secretary, shall accompany each application. |
