SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Removes the cost-of-living increase given to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, Comptroller, State Treasurer, and members of the General Assembly for Fiscal Year 2024. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. “AN ACT concerning appropriations”, Public Act 103-6, approved with items reduced on June 7, 2023, is amended by changing Sections 35 and 45 of Article 33 as follows:
Section 35. The following named amounts, or so much thereof as may be necessary, respectively, are appropriated to the State Comptroller to pay the elected State officers of the Executive Branch of the State Government, at various rates prescribed by law:
For the Governor.......................... 205,700

For salaries of the members of the General Assembly,
for both the House of Representatives and the Senate; including base salary of $85,000
$89,675 for each member of the General Assembly and additional amounts,
as prescribed by law, for Speaker of the House, President of the Senate,
Minority Leader of the House, Minority Leader of the Senate, Speaker Pro
Tempore of the House, President Pro Tempore of the Senate, Majority Leaders in
both chambers, 10 assistant majority and minority leaders in the Senate, 12
assistant majority and minority leaders, majority and minority caucus chairmen
in the Senate, majority and minority conference chairmen in the House, 2 Deputy
Majority and the 2 Deputy Minority leaders in the House, Majority Officer in
the House, Majority Officer in the Senate, chairmen and minority spokesmen of
standing committees in the Senate (except the Committee on Assignments), and
chairmen and minority spokesmen of standing committees in the

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
