AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4665

AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4665 on page 1, by replacing lines 4 through 6 with the following:

"Article 1. Equity In Accessibility

Section 1-1. Short title. This Article may be cited as the Equity in Accessibility Act. References in this Article to "this Act" mean this Article.

Section 1-5. Funding.

(a) The Department of Human Services shall provide for funding and reimbursement of costs associated with the provision of American Sign Language services and interpretive services for non-English speaking patients for the benefit of patients of mental health treatment programs and facilities. The funding and reimbursement shall be based upon the actual cost incurred by the mental health treatment program or facility and shall reflect regional differences in costs and expenses related to the provision of American Sign Language and non-English interpretive services at each location.

(b) Applicants seeking funding under this Act shall apply to the Department in a form and manner prescribed by the Department.

(c) The Department may adopt any rules necessary to implement this Act.

Article 5. Mental Health And Substance Use Disorder

Professional Support Grant Program

Section 5-1. Short title. This Article may be cited as the Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Professional Support Grant Program Act. References in this Article to "this Act" mean this Article."; and

on page 1, line 7, by replacing "5" with "5-5"; and

on page 2, line 11, by replacing "10" with "5-10"; and

on page 2, line 23, by replacing "15" with "5-15"; and

on page 4, line 7, by replacing "90" with "5-90"; and

on page 5, line 3, by replacing "95" with 5-95"; and

on page 5, by replacing lines 8 and 9 with the following:

"Article 99. Effective Date

Section 99-99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
