| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5009 as follows:

| 3 | | on page 2, lines 6 and 7, by deleting "during which time the |
| 4 | | employee is contractually employed"; and

| 5 | | on page 2, immediately below line 9, by inserting the |
| 6 | | following: |
| 7 | | "(a-5) For educational support personnel, holidays |
| 8 | | observed by a school district shall be paid in addition to an |
| 9 | | educational support personnel employee's normally scheduled |
| 10 | | work. An educational support personnel employee shall receive |
| 11 | | the day off with pay and benefits for all school district |
| 12 | | observed holidays that occur on days during the educational |
| 13 | | support personnel employee's contractual work term. This |
| 14 | | subsection (a-5) is a declaration of existing law and may not |
| 15 | | be construed as a new enactment.". |
