AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 5213 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 5213 by replacing 
3line 12 on page 7 through line 5 on page 8 with the following:
4        "(2) Be a graduate of a dental therapy program:
5            (A) accredited by the Commission on Dental 
6        Accreditation or any other dental therapy accrediting 
7        entity recognized by the United States Department of 
8        Education; or 
9            (B) for applicants applying for a dental therapy 
10        license before January 1, 2029, approved by the 
11        Minnesota Board of Dentistry or the Alaska Community 
12        Health Aide Program Board if the program certifies to 
13        the Board that the applicant's education substantially 
14        conforms to the education standards established by the 
15        Commission on Dental Accreditation.
16        (3) Have successfully completed:
17            (A) a dental therapy practical or clinical 
18        examination administered by the following regional

1        testing services: the Central Regional Dental Testing 
2        Service, Inc. (CRDTS), the Southern Regional Testing 
3        Agency, Inc. (SRTA), or CDCA-WREB-CITA; or
4            (B) a dental therapy practical or clinical 
5        examination approved by the Board.
6        If an applicant fails to pass an examination after 3 
7    attempts, the applicant is not eligible to retake the 
8    examination unless the applicant completes additional 
9    education requirements as specified by the Department.".
