1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation. |
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Petroleum Education and Marketing |
5 | | Act is amended by changing Section 10 as follows: |

7 | | (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2028) |
8 | | Sec. 10. Illinois Petroleum Resources Board. |
9 | | (a) There is hereby created the Illinois Petroleum |
10 | | Resources Board, which shall be subject to the provisions of |
11 | | the Regulatory Sunset Act. The purpose of the Board is to |
12 | | coordinate a program designed to demonstrate to the general |
13 | | public the importance of the Illinois oil and gas exploration |
14 | | and production industry, to encourage the wise and efficient |
15 | | use of energy, to promote environmentally sound production |
16 | | methods and technologies, to develop existing supplies of |
17 | | State oil and gas resources, to support research and |
18 | | educational activities concerning the oil and gas exploration |
19 | | and production industry, and to support oilfield environmental |
20 | | remediation and restoration activities. |
21 | | (b) The Board shall be composed of 12 members to be |
22 | | appointed as follows: |
23 | | (1) Through December 31, 2006, the Governor shall make |
