HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club on the occasion of its 75th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club was organized in the fall of 1947 at the Okawville grade school; and

WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club met in member's homes for several years before moving meetings to the community building, where meetings are held to this day; and

WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club began its work in the community focusing on agriculture and home economics and has grown into a hub for programs geared toward children from both rural and urban backgrounds and from all ethic groups; and

WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club has a current enrollment of approximately 60 members with 11 leaders and project leaders; and

WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club continues to live up to the 4-H pledge "I pledge my head to clearer thinking, my heart to greater loyalty, my hands to larger service, my health to better living for my club, my community, my country and my world"; and

WHEREAS, Over these 75 years, the Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club has achieved great successes through the determination of club leaders like Henry Garlich, William Riechmann, Dwight Shubert, Donna Hesker, and Ronald Going; and

WHEREAS, This leadership tradition has been continued by President Paige Riechmann, Vice President Clay Maynard, Secretary Lily Helbig, Treasurer Braxton Rennegarbe, Reporter Penny Herzig, and Scrapbooker Annabelle Herzig; and

WHEREAS, The Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club has positively affected the lives of hundreds of children in this great State; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club on the occasion of its 75th anniversary and acknowledge all of the contributions by the leaders, members, and families who have impacted the health of their club, community, country, and world for the better; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the Okawville Busy Bees 4-H Club and to club leaders Paige Riechmann, Clay Maynard, Lily Helbig, Braxton Rennegarbe, Penny Herzig, Annabelle Herzig, Erica Riechmann, and Michele Helbig as an expression of our respect and esteem for a vibrant first 75 years and as a leading example of learning and comradery.
