HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Moline High School 
4boys basketball team, the Maroons, on winning the 2022-23 
5Illinois High School Association Class 4A State Championship; 
6and

  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Maroons defeated Benet Academy  59 to 43 on 
8March 11, 2023 for the first championship in the school's 
9history; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Maroons compiled a season record of 35 wins 
11and 3 losses on their way to the title; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, The Maroons are led by Head Coach Sean Taylor and 
13Assistant Coaches Pat Rangel and Troy Noble; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The members of the Maroons are Brock Harding,

Wood Cary,

20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE

1HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we congratulate the Moline High School boys basketball team, 
3the Maroons, on winning the 2022-23 Illinois High School 
4Association Class 4A State Championship, and we wish them many 
5more successful seasons; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
7presented to the players and coaches of the Moline High School 
8boys basketball team as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
