| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to commend Deborah Ziech on her 20 years | ||||||
| 4 | of service to the Board of School Inspectors of Joliet Public | ||||||
| 5 | Schools District 86; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Deborah Ziech is a proud graduate of Taft | ||||||
| 7 | Elementary School and Hufford Junior High School in Joliet | ||||||
| 8 | Public Schools District 86, Joliet West High School, and St. | ||||||
| 9 | Joseph Hospital School of Nursing; she currently resides on | ||||||
| 10 | the west side of Joliet with her husband, Dean; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Deborah Ziech was first elected to the Board of | ||||||
| 12 | School Inspectors of Joliet Public Schools District 86 in | ||||||
| 13 | 2003, after she previously served on the initial District | ||||||
| 14 | Strategic Plan Committee; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, During her 20-year tenure, Deborah Ziech has | ||||||
| 16 | served as vice president and president; she has been a | ||||||
| 17 | determined voice for clarity and accountability for district | ||||||
| 18 | policy and finances, and she has remained a strong supporter | ||||||
| 19 | of teachers and staff, always wanting the best for them, their | ||||||
| 20 | students, and families; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Deborah Ziech has been a director of the Joliet | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Grade Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence and a | ||||||
| 2 | member of the Joliet Reads Committee, where she was a founding | ||||||
| 3 | member; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Deborah Ziech has been given numerous awards from | ||||||
| 5 | the ASPIRA Association, Illinois Association of School Boards | ||||||
| 6 | (IASB), and other organizations; she was a recipient of an | ||||||
| 7 | Illinois Chapter National School Relations Association | ||||||
| 8 | Distinguished Service Award in 2008 and the 2013 Joliet Reads | ||||||
| 9 | Community Service Award; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Deborah Ziech's final board meeting will be at | ||||||
| 11 | Sator Sanchez Elementary School on May 10, 2023; therefore, be | ||||||
| 12 | it
| ||||||
| 13 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 14 | HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 15 | we commend Deborah Ziech on her 20 years of service to the | ||||||
| 16 | Board of School Inspectors of Joliet Public Schools District | ||||||
| 17 | 86, and we thank her for her devotion and service to the | ||||||
| 18 | children and families of Joliet; and be it further
| ||||||
| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to Deborah Ziech as an expression of our esteem and | ||||||
| 21 | respect.
