HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize the actions of Emergency 
4Medical Service (EMS) workers, law enforcement, and line 
5workers in response to the deadly tornado that struck Crawford 
6County on March 31, 2023; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, On the evening of March 31, 2023, an EF-3 tornado 
8struck Crawford County, killing three people and injuring 
9eight as the tornado crossed an area near Robinson; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The tornado split the telecommunications building 
11at Lincoln Trail College in half and hit Crawford County 
12Airport directly, throwing airplanes across nearby cropland; 
13and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The tornado additionally destroyed at least 25 
15homes and damaged up to 50 more; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The fast responses of EMS workers, law 
17enforcement, and line workers saved lives and restored 
18critical services to the community under challenging 
19circumstances; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE

1HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we recognize the actions of Emergency Medical Service (EMS) 
3workers, law enforcement, and line workers in response to the 
4deadly tornado that struck Crawford County on March 31, 2023; 
5and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
7delivered to the Crawford County Emergency Management Agency, 
8the Crawford County Board, and the Mayor of Robinson.
