HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The Friday before Mother's Day is recognized 
3annually as Military Spouse Appreciation Day to highlight the 
4contributions and sacrifices military spouses make for their 
5families and their communities; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The military spouses of the U.S. Armed Forces are 
7a group of diverse individuals from unique backgrounds who 
8possess uncommon resilience and understand what it means to 
9make sacrifices in defense of American freedoms and ideals, 
10all while juggling the responsibilities of work and family 
11through the hardship of having their life partner deployed 
12away from home; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, America's military spouses work to build strong 
14communities on bases and in local communities around the 
15nation and the world in order to care for the needs of military 
16families and to provide support and encouragement to fellow 
17military families; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Military spouses often create businesses and 
19support systems to serve the needs of their communities as 
20well as serving in dynamic leadership roles across various 
21industries; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we recognize Military Spouse Appreciation Day on May 12, 2023; 
4and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That we encourage all Illinoisans to honor and 
6recognize the dedication and contributions made by military 
7spouses to the State and the United States.
